light & shadow continued 2

I'm steadily starting to understand shadows and lighting a lot better, but I still have a lot of practice to go. So far, I've found different angled surfaces and objects leaning over the edges of others particularly difficult.

simple steam continued

 Steam test render using a handful of effect nodes and masks on three seperate layers including: variable blur, layer transparency and mask with feathered brush.

I filmed this on my Iphone and it's been compressed a few times so the video is a bit grainy. I tried controlling the conditions to capture the best steam, but ultimately, given that it's changing seasons to summer, I will have to wait for an opportune moment to capture some good quality footage.
